We the People - episode 92
Here we are still dealing with The Cold That Won’t Die (which the adults have now also caught), and Jem has learned a new word: boogers. (I didn’t teach him that!)
Also trying to ‘break up’ my broody Lavender Orpington hen, Jane. I love Orpingtons, but they do have a tendency to go broody (that is, they want to sit on eggs and hatch them out, which is only useful if you have a rooster to fertilize the eggs; which we don’t). My last broody hen was successfully ‘broken up’ (a farm term, meaning ‘made to stop being broody’) by immersing her in cold water (broodiness is connected with a higher body temperature; useful for hatching out eggs). But Jane recovered quickly from her cold bath and went back to the nest. *sighs*
On the more positive side, yesterday was the 39th anniversary of Mr. Celia and me. Enjoyed a delicious meal at the only really high-class restaurant in town.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the floor is yours!

If the restaurant provides cloth napkins, it's high class. The food doesn't matter. Congratulations on 39 years, Celia and Mister.
You can get fake eggs for Jane to sit on. Happy 39. Just passed 51.
