Without consequences

I’m very sorry that yesterday’s post did not drop on time! I thought I had the system down so well that I put the scheduled time in almost automatically. I’m still wondering if I goofed up or if Substack glitched. I can’t be sure, because I was so exhausted on Saturday evening that I didn’t do my final double-check of the weekend’s posts.

Our oldest son called me on his lunch break on Sunday. Not a word from the younger two kids. I’m holding up right now, but I have a suspicion that this is going to hit me hard at some point in the next few days—delayed reaction seemed to have become a thing my mind does these days.

But the thing that’s been getting on my nerves today is the constant stream of examples of people on the Left fully expecting to experience no consequences for their bad behavior. First it was the Democrat politicians who stormed an ICE center in New Jersey, pretending they were doing “an inspection.” Note that this particular ICE center houses some of the worst criminal aliens. But I’m sure these politicians would have freed them if they could.

While the politicians in question were arrested, it seems highly unlikely that any charges will stick, even if they are filed. Because the rule that the Leftist institutions (like the media and the judiciary) are still clinging to is that Leftists (and their favored criminals) almost never suffer the prescribed consequences for their behavior, no matter how egregious.

Then there’s this highly privileged Leftist female, one Kai Deberry-Bostick (age 28, and registered as a Democrat). Note that she’s driving a BMW (a car I could never afford) and according to locals, this street fair is a long-time yearly event that motorists who park in the area are warned about for days in advance so they can avoid exactly this problem. But the rules do not apply to her.

This was in Maryland, which explains why the (incredibly patient) cop didn’t arrest her as soon as she tore down the barrier. Despite the fact that she was arrested, the fact that this was in Maryland means that the charges will likely be dropped. Aside from gaining an ‘oppression’ story to win sympathy with, this woman will end up with exactly the result she expected to begin with: she can do whatever she wants, regardless of the law or the risk to others.

Nor do the Leftists fear revealing exactly who they are anymore. When 59 people from South Africa were fast-tracked for the refugee program due to threats that have been made there to kill white people simply for being white, the Leftists screamed about how horrible it was that a small number of white families were being let in instead of the military-age males that the Biden administration had prioritized. The Episcopal Church even decided that they’re going to refuse to settle these refugees and stop working with the government (I’m guessing their migrant-related grift had already dried up to a considerable extent, with the way things have changed at the border since January).

The Leftists have (in a shockingly racist way) equated ‘refugee’ with ‘non-white,’ and it doesn’t matter to them that South Africa’s Apartheid ended in 1994, meaning that the vast majority of these refugees were not even old enough to vote by then, if they were even born yet. But the prime rule for Leftists is that white people are guilty of whatever white people did in the past, so the children who arrived here are evil racists who deserved to be killed in their home country (note that the Boers started settling in South Africa in the 17th century; but hey, Europeans are colonists wherever they are, even if they stayed in Europe).

The reaction has caused me to have another disturbing thought as well. Assuming that, for some reason, Israel decided to give up and evacuate its population (this is very much a thought experiment, because I don’t think that will ever happen), I would expect the Left to have exactly the same reaction to Israeli refugees as they are having to these South Africans: too ‘white,’ too guilty of ‘crimes’ against ‘brown’ people to deserve any refuge.

The Leftists continue, day by day, to reveal who they are, who they will side with, and what they want for this country (and the world). They may cling to their physical Covid masks, but the figurative masks have come off. And they expect there to be ZERO consequences for what is revealed.

Why wouldn’t they expect that? That’s how it’s been in the U.S. for over 20 years. With the control they have over our society’s institutions, is that actually likely to change?
