We the People - episode 66
This is the week our son visits Jem (he’s trying for every other week), so I’m writing this in advance, because I will surely be distracted.
At the moment, he’s trying to sort through all the divorce paperwork (evidently there is a ton involved). He’s also trying to figure out whether he can afford to sell his house (bought via a first-time-buyer’s program) before the five-year period is up. He’s willing to take a financial hit by doing that and leaving his very-well-paying job in Kansas in order to live closer to his son. (Since the divorce was his idea to begin with, I’m not feeling a huge amount of pity for him, but I’m grateful he’s finally putting his role as a father ahead of other things. He’s a good dad, and his bond with Jem is strong. It saddens me beyond words that he couldn’t find a way to tough out his marriage until Jem was at least school age.)
Anyway, helping cope with paperwork is what I’ll be doing when you read this. What’s on your mind?
Ladies and Gentlemen, the floor is yours!

The rioting at Cal Berkley has me wondering what THEIR side is. It looks like speak like we speak or we will harass you till you die and then harass your family and childen to death. Someone needs to shut.it.down. until civility returns. Banning TPUSA is not a solution.
My dad left when I was one in 1971 and it was an overall plus although very hard on our mother.
The one of many things my brother and I learned is that kids need both parents very badly so I hope your son keeps his focus.
Our investment in three self-sustaining kids is paying off handsomely.
